The Canadian government has announced the death of Bill C-30. The controversial bill also known as “Protecting Children from Internet Predators Act” has been defeated! But does this mean that Canadians are in the clear with respect to online privacy? How does President Obama’s executive order on cyber security affect Canadians? Has the battle been won, or are we merely entering phase two in the agenda for a global Orwellian surveillance grid?

Steven Harper is the only Pri Minister I see that is trying in a Christian format to be more then his predecessors. Its a tuff go and the oligarchs weigh in as heavy opposition. Their control factor with Naftia and their united reich is hard to deal with.
Its a sad day when the citizens of any country can not upheld their Government leaders in high esteem and have to second guess their manipulating tactics rather then working hand in hand. One day this will all be torn down and those that believe they know whats good for people will find their agendas scraped and thrown in a heap along with those that only had their own personal benefits in mind. Good riddens to them!!!!!!!
Does this mean it is Illegal for AT&T, Rogers, and the like to be recording cellular transaction data now in Canada? This only seems to affect law enforcement accessing the data, not the fact that it is being kept or recorded to begin with.
More details on whats being kept:

Ofcourse this is just on the cellular network but overall as Dan points out, it will come down to if our ISP’s will be pressured by gov. to record and present this data on request.
As it stands one of the few services left are anonymous proxy service that flat out do not keep any records (thus gov cant ask for any). This will work until legislation changes it or American providers simply block the known address ranges for those proxy services using the anti-terrorism buzzword that the media has so engrained into people as an excuse.
Wouldn’t put it past them, Odumbo’s already up on his podium flopping those ears around trying to churn up some more mess not a day later.
Keep up the good work Dan!
